Who are you when you are forced to walk in someone else's shoes?

Meet Sam 。 。 。
She's not got much, but she's grateful for what she has: a job she's just about clinging on to and a family who depend on her for everything。 She knows she's one bad day away from losing it all - and just hopes today isn't it 。 。 。

Meet Nisha 。 。 。
She's got everything she always dreamed of - and more: a phenomenally rich husband; an international lifestyle; and 。 。 。 she's just been locked out of all of it after her husband initiates divorce proceedings 。 。 。

Sam and Nisha should never have crossed paths。 But after a bag mix-up at the gym, their lives become intertwined - even as they spiral out of control。

Sam, a downtrodden working mom, and Nisha, a rich-bitch trophy wife cross paths in a gym locker room one day。 Sam is in a hurry and mistakenly grabs Nisha’s kit bag; this one mistake causes mayhem throughout many lives。 This novel seemed so different from Moyes’ usual ones and I loved it more than any of her others。 It speaks to the power of women when they’ve reached a certain age where others dismiss them as useless。

A little predictable, but still pulls the heart strings。

Nisha has power- the kind that comes from money。 Sam does not feel that kind of power and is struggling to keep her job and her marriage。 A gym bag mix up will change both of these women's lives。 Sam has to wear the designer jacket and stiletto heels that are in the gym bag to her client pitch。 The effect this has on her appearance and attitude lands her a few nice accounts。 Nisha meanwhile finds that her world is going to get a lot more difficult。 Her prized shoes are gone, her husband wanting Nisha has power- the kind that comes from money。 Sam does not feel that kind of power and is struggling to keep her job and her marriage。 A gym bag mix up will change both of these women's lives。 Sam has to wear the designer jacket and stiletto heels that are in the gym bag to her client pitch。 The effect this has on her appearance and attitude lands her a few nice accounts。 Nisha meanwhile finds that her world is going to get a lot more difficult。 Her prized shoes are gone, her husband wanting a divorce has locked her out of the apartment with no clothes, no money and no where to go。 Each of them will find inner strength and learn that everyone needs help now and then。 Good friends and a determination to get it together prevail。 While clothes are said to make the man it seems that power heels bring out tough smart women who are tired of getting stepped on。 Themes of female friendships , mothering as well as a great story of fighting for what you want。 My thanks to the publisher for the advance copy。 。。。more

Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Group for an advanced copy of this book。Jojo Moyes's In Someone Else's Shoes begins with a mixup in a gym locker room。 Sam, a middle age woman barely staying afloat amidst several life crises, accidentally grabs someone else's bag when she leaves in a rush。 The bag belongs to Nisha, a wealthy and absolutely vile woman who gets hit with divorce papers shortly after she leaves the gym with Sam's bag。 The book then follows Sam and Nisha separately until they event Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Group for an advanced copy of this book。Jojo Moyes's In Someone Else's Shoes begins with a mixup in a gym locker room。 Sam, a middle age woman barely staying afloat amidst several life crises, accidentally grabs someone else's bag when she leaves in a rush。 The bag belongs to Nisha, a wealthy and absolutely vile woman who gets hit with divorce papers shortly after she leaves the gym with Sam's bag。 The book then follows Sam and Nisha separately until they eventually meet and join together to take Nisha's husband down。 I almost stopped reading this after just two chapters because Nisha read as a caricature of a person to me。 I couldn't imagine her existing in real life。 I kept going, though, and am glad that I did。 The characters became a bit more complex and likable and went through a lot of growth throughout the book。 I also have to shout out Jasmine and Andrea, two side characters who were the stars of the book for me。 Overall, a fun and feel-good read!3。5 stars 。。。more

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an advanced copy of this title。I like Moyes writing, but struggled a bit with this book, mostly in the first half。 Nisha and Sam live opposite lives -- Nisha is a wealthy wife and Sam struggles to make ends meet。 When their shoes are mixed up in a gym mishap, it wreaks havoc on their daily lives。 In the first half, Nisha's husband has cut her off and thrown her off, and I found his awfulness and her situation to be very off-putting。 Also in the Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an advanced copy of this title。I like Moyes writing, but struggled a bit with this book, mostly in the first half。 Nisha and Sam live opposite lives -- Nisha is a wealthy wife and Sam struggles to make ends meet。 When their shoes are mixed up in a gym mishap, it wreaks havoc on their daily lives。 In the first half, Nisha's husband has cut her off and thrown her off, and I found his awfulness and her situation to be very off-putting。 Also in the first half, Sam has a terrible boss and has to help her depressed husband。 I didn't like the beginning and struggled to get through it。I did enjoy the second half of the story, when NIsha and Sam eventually meet and join forces to make things right。 This is where the book really shines。 The bonding and unexpected friendships are what make this story, and I only wish they'd found each other earlier in the novel。 。。。more

Love JoJo Moyes! A funny story about an unlikeable woman, her rotten husband and lonely son。 You’ll love the friendships that evolve along her journey from rags to riches twice。

Thanks to Viking for this delightful galley。 JoJo Moyes is back to what she does best, strong female characters, a little romance and always an interesting story。

Such an awesome story! First of all, I love that the main female characters are middle-aged and menopausal。 I don’t think I’ve ever related to fictional characters more in my life。 LOL。 Secondly, this story grabs you from the start and doesn’t let go。 (I read the whole thing in one day!) I hope I see it on the big screen someday soon。 。。。more

I love love loved The Giver of Stars and was so excited to get an arc of this new book! I do enjoy her characters and the story was fun and lighthearted。 I loved the female friendships that form and while the end is predictable and all tied up in a nice bow, I did enjoy the story and will definitely recommend in the future。
